Shipping discounts that aren't all-or-nothing
Take a percentage or a fixed amount off shipping, set a flat rate your customer pays, exclude express options, and combine a product discount with a shipping one in a single reward.
Shipping used to be a switch: free, or nothing. Now it's a dial.
Four ways to reward shipping
A new Shipping discount reward type, with the choice of:
- Free shipping — what you had before.
- A percentage off — take 50% off delivery instead of all of it.
- A fixed amount off — $5 off, never more than the rate itself.
- A flat rate — "your customer pays exactly $4.95 shipping," whatever the carrier quotes. Options already cheaper than that are left alone.
Flat rate is the one worth a second look. It turns shipping from a number that varies by cart and postcode into a number you can put in your marketing.
Leave express alone
You can now exclude specific delivery options by name. Discount standard shipping, never touch Express — so an overnight upgrade doesn't quietly become a giveaway.
Country restrictions and a maximum rate cap still apply, as they did for free shipping.
One reward, both benefits
A new Product + shipping reward type grants both at once: "10% off and free shipping."
One reward, one thing to explain to your shopper, both benefits applying independently at checkout. Previously that meant two separate discounts and hoping they stacked.
