A free gift, one tap into the cart
An Add to cart button puts a product in the shopper's cart from inside the form, refreshes the cart drawer on Dawn and Horizon, and applies your gift discount with it.
"Subscribe and get a free tote" works when the tote ends up in the cart. Before, the shopper had to find the product, add it, and remember the code. Now the form does it for them.
The Add to cart button
Add an Add to cart element from the block picker, or click Add product block under Static codes in Form settings → Discount. Then click Select product and pick the variant.
The shopper taps the button and the item goes into their cart. It's never added without a tap and never added twice. The button shows Adding…, Added ✓ or Unavailable, and you can edit all three labels.
Making it free
The button adds the product at its normal price. To make it free, create a Shopify discount for it, such as Buy X Get Y. If the step also shows a static code, that code is applied together with the gift. If the product has a price, the builder warns you to state the terms on the form, so shoppers aren't surprised at checkout.
The cart updates right away
On Dawn and Horizon themes, the cart drawer and cart count update as soon as the item is added, without a reload. On other themes the item is always in the cart, but the drawer may not show it until the next page load.
Smaller things
- Popovers inside sheets. The color picker and text formatting popovers now open in the right place inside modals and sheets like the logic editor.
- International phone numbers reach Klaviyo cleanly. Phone numbers are converted to international format before they're sent, and the field accepts numbers from any country code.
- A clear message when staff can't see your theme. If your Shopify account doesn't have the Themes permission, the home page now says Can't check your storefront app embed and explains who to ask, instead of a status we can't verify.
